About Scarborough Amateur Radio SocietyScarborough Amateur Radio Society meets most Monday evenings (Please check our program page for dates and subjects). Our meetings are held at the Scarborough Cricket Club North Marine Road Scarborough. If You are a Radio Amateur, Short Wave Listener or If you would like to know more about Amateur Radio or wish to become a Radio Amateur you are welcome to visit on any evening. Radio and electronics is an interesting subject so to try and assist viewers to this site who may be new to the hobby or just setting out we have tried to give a simple definition to technical words. If there is a definition available just click the word. |
It is always a good time for Amateur Radio, with all of the different types of transmission that are allowed and the many different frequencies any time on any day is a good time for Amateur Radio. To get an Amateur Radio Licence you have to pass exams, Scarborough Amateur Radio Society runs courses for these exams Full details are given on our Licence Tuition Page Scarborough Amateur Radio Society holds the Callsigns G4BP and G2CP these are used from the radio room (shack) in the clubhouse and also at various locations around the Scarborough area when the club is operaing in amateur radio contests. Events occur at various times of the year and at various locatiions. Details of these events will be shown in advance on our Events Page and also the results of the events will be shown also on that page |
